Artist Statement:
This painting marks a deeply personal milestone in my journey as both an artist and a mother. Since welcoming my second child, balancing painting with the demands of motherhood, home, and creative responsibilities has been challenging. This is the first piece I have started and completed since entering this new chapter, and within it, I have poured my love, devotion, and resilience.
The honeysuckles symbolize the deep bond I share with my children—their presence brings me immeasurable happiness. Two large leaves embrace the smaller flowers, pulling them closer to the central bloom, which stands tall, representing myself as a mother. This composition reflects my strength, my unwavering love, and the process of rediscovering myself amid these evolving roles.
This work connects to the essence of my White Floral Series, which began in 2016 as an exploration of the soul, love’s purity, and the spiritual connections that transcend the weight of the world. My florals have resonated with collectors in deeply personal ways—honoring loved ones, finding strength in difficult times, and reflecting on self-growth. This painting is an extension of that message, embodying the transformative power of motherhood, resilience, and the ever-evolving journey of love.
